As Nigeria marks its 63rd Independence Anniversary on October 1st, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State has emphasized the need for a higher quality of life, particularly for the residents of Lagos.
In a statement released on Saturday, Alhaji Hakeem Amode, the Lagos State PDP Publicity Secretary, expressed the party’s commitment to prudent governance and the utilization of abundant resources for the betterment of all Lagos residents.
“Lagos residents deserve an elevated quality of life, and we assert that, with prudent governance, we will harness our abundant resources for the betterment of all,” Amode stated.
He also highlighted the party’s readiness to lead and steer the state towards comprehensive human and infrastructure development, acknowledging that the road ahead may be challenging.
Amode extended warm felicitations to all residents of Lagos State and emphasized the importance of selfless and compassionate leadership for improving the fortunes of the masses in the country.
“On the occasion of Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary, the Lagos State chapter of the PDP extends warm felicitations to the resilient residents of Lagos State,” he said.
Reflecting on the historical significance of Lagos and its role as a thriving center of commerce and industry, Amode lamented the challenges faced by the state since the return of democracy in 1999, blaming it on what he described as “clueless and heartless leaders.”
“However, as true Lagos residents with a high level of resilience, we celebrate this moment with deep pride, owing to the challenges we have overcome,” the PDP spokesman noted.
He expressed the party’s belief that Lagos State’s most significant fortunes are yet to be realized and encouraged people to reflect on shared history, assess present circumstances, and envision a future filled with possibilities.
“Our optimism fuels our commitment to dedicated leadership, propelling us toward the state’s untapped potential,” he emphasized.
Amode concluded by stating the party’s resolute belief that under the capable leadership of the PDP, Lagos State would achieve unparalleled heights of prosperity and fulfilment.
