Abuja, Nigeria – In response to the tragic incident involving the death of Ms. Greatness Olorunfemi, who was pushed out of a moving vehicle by suspected criminals, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has taken swift action. An investigative panel, comprising representatives from the Nigerian Police and other stakeholders, has been set up by the FCT Administration to probe this unsettling incident.

The unfortunate episode occurred on September 26 when Ms. Greatness Olorunfemi was forcibly ejected from a moving vehicle by unknown assailants. Concerned citizens came to her aid and rushed her to Maitama District Hospital, but regrettably, she did not receive timely medical assistance and subsequently passed away.

Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, the Mandate Secretary of the Health and Environment Services Secretariat at the FCTA, conveyed the administration’s commitment to ensuring justice is served. Following a meeting with the hospital’s management, it was revealed that the victim’s demise was attributed to the alleged negligence of the medical team.

Dr. Imuentinyan Igbinovia, the Medical Director of the hospital, refuted the allegations, claiming that the victim had succumbed to her injuries prior to her arrival at the medical facility.

In light of these circumstances, the secretary has requested an autopsy and the preparation of a Coroner’s Inquest, in addition to the ongoing investigation panel, to establish the precise cause and circumstances surrounding Ms. Olorunfemi’s death.

Dr. Fasawe extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and urged the public to exercise vigilance and caution while navigating the Federal Capital Territory. She appealed for patience and discretion while awaiting the completion of the investigations.

Furthermore, Dr. Fasawe pledged to maintain open communication with relevant stakeholders, including the family, the Police, and the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, to ensure a thorough investigation. She also called upon security agencies to enhance security surveillance and protection measures throughout the capital city.
