The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) remains hopeful that the Supreme Court will address the perceived discrepancies in the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) which upheld the election of President Bola Tinubu.

Sen. Adolphus Wabara, the Chairman of the BoT, conveyed these sentiments during the presentation of the communique at the conclusion of the board’s 75th meeting in Abuja on Thursday.

“The BoT reiterates its disagreement with the judgment of the PEPC which affirmed the declaration of the APC as the victor of the Feb. 25 Presidential election, despite evidence suggesting otherwise.

The board is committed to taking necessary actions against the evident determination of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to establish Nigeria as a one-party nation,” stated Wabara.

He further emphasized the BoT’s trust in the Supreme Court’s ability and determination to address and rectify the perceived misjudgments evident in the decision of the PEPC.

Wabara lauded the PDP’s Presidential Candidate, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, for his adherence to legal procedures in his effort to reclaim the presidential mandate.

He voiced concerns regarding the increasing hardships, insecurity, and prevalent unease throughout the nation, which he attributed to the policy decisions of the APC administration.

“The BoT is deeply concerned about the persistent depreciation of the naira, which results from the poorly executed policies of the APC. This decline has a detrimental impact on the economy, leading to escalating costs that put significant strain on households,” he emphasized.

Wabara also expressed unease regarding the current state of affairs in the country, noting that many Nigerians are turning to the PDP for guidance and solutions.

“The BoT assures Nigerians that, despite current challenges, the PDP stands united, more resolute, and poised to continue spearheading the effort to safeguard our democracy and steer our nation towards credible elections, adherence to the rule of law, national unity, and economic growth,” he concluded.
